I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to praise the amazing talents of Mel Hyatt. She is a colorist at Gene Juarez in Puyallup and a miracle worker! I torture the heck out of my hair. I heat style it everyday and dye it myself at least every 2 months. With all that damage I was a little worried that I would end up bald. So, for a birthday gift my hubby gave me a much needed trip to the hair salon. Three hours later, I felt like a million bucks. Thank you Mel!!!

The weather was fantastic with out ANY rain! I couldn't have been any happier. We visited Seattle and Snoqualmie Falls while they were here and here are a few pics from the trip. I can't wait unitl we can visit them.

The first blog of (hopefully) many!
Welcome to my blog! I am not too sure why I am blogging but, I've been inspired by my wonderful friend June to give it a try. June's blogs are so much fun to read that I wanted to put a little information out there for her and all of my valuable friends to enjoy as well.
Well, lets get started then shall we?
As many of you already know, my life just took a MAJOR directional turn. I have been in the crazy world of finance for the last 10 years and although it was something I was good at and gave me a bit of success, it is definitely NOT my calling. My run in the industry ended January 14th at 3:30 pm. Please let me tell you that moment in my life was a huge relief. My company had already gone through 4 rounds of layoffs and after seeing the many "red flags" I knew my position would be next on the cut-back list. Since I am a freak at attempting to plan my future out as much as possible, I began to think of how I could make this lay-off work for me.....two minutes of brain racking later a little voice in the back on my head said "it's time to take care of you." My next thought was maybe now I can go back to school? **sigh** I love school and if you know my parents, you know how much that little thought would just "rev" their engines. Both of my parents are teachers and education is worth more the gold in their eyes. I too feel the same way and I absolutely love school. I enjoy being a student and I relish the challenge of learning new things. The idea of going back to school made me so happy that I had to put myself in check. Going back felt more like a dream then an actual possibility. So, the planner in me decided to take the first step and get all the information I could about going back to school. Two weeks later, I can say that I have completed all the tasks I can at this point in regards to: Unemployment approval of retraining, applying to the school, sitting through the program's information orientation and financial aid. I register for classes in two days and I couldn't be any happier. I will keep you posted on how everything goes from here and wish me luck!!!
